I recently took part in Project Network, a five week residency, at Guldagergaard International Ceramics Centre in Skaelskor, Denmark. I was fascinated by the sites history and of those who've been a part of it (from its days as a fruit and tulip farm to today, as a space for artists to research, experiment and meet with one another) and so decided to create a body of work to tell of the stories of its past through to its present; from the fruit farmer Kresten Troelsens days to the conversations, experiences and moments shared during Project Network 2020.
Alongside sharing the studio and house, every evening at 7pm we had dinner together. With 17 artists in total, we piled in, ate to our hearts content and shared stories, laughter and plans. Dining together was such a wonderful and important part of the residency and it became clear from the start that I wanted to produce a dining table set to mark our evening dinners - it is now complete, with 9 dinner plates, 9 cups and a variety of serving dishes and vases.
